SEAFORTH PARENT ADVISORY COUNCIL

PAC roles
& key duties.

Our volunteer-led PAC brings school parents together to support student programs and school-wide events. These eight roles help ensure funds directly benefit our children through equipment, subsidized lessons, and community-building activities.

Chair

Leadership & coordination

Acts as spokesperson for Seaforth PAC. Coordinates committees, meetings, the annual budget, yearly events, and year-end reporting in consultation with PAC executives and the school principal.

Vice Chair

Support & continuity

Supports the Chair in the performance of their duties and assumes leadership responsibilities in the Chair’s absence.

Treasurer

Finances & accountability

Manages and reports the finances of the PAC, ensuring accurate accounting, tracking funds raised, and overseeing disbursements for student programs.

Secretary

Records & communication

Records and distributes minutes of all PAC meetings, maintains official records, and ensures communication flows smoothly across the executive team.

Fundraising

Ideas & events

Recommends fundraising events to the PAC executive and school principal, and actively supports and coordinates ongoing fundraising efforts.

DPAC Rep

Our district connection

Attends and reports on Burnaby School District Parent Advisory Council (DPAC) meetings, acting as the communication link between the district and the school community.

CPF Rep

French program representation

Attends and reports on Canadian Parents for French (CPF) meetings. This position must be filled for the school to qualify for the grant offered for the French program.

Member at Large

A helping hand across the PAC

Attends PAC meetings, participates in discussions, and carries out specific tasks or sub-committee roles as needed to support school initiatives.
